Co-op, player count, and cross-play
Checked 2026-10-16. Steam build 25955406. Patch 1.0.47.0.
I quoted the publisher FAQ instead of a tag. Karen from Raw Fury wrote on 13 October 2026 that you can play solo or online with up to two friends, and that cross-play works across platforms. The same day the developer Saulotti wrote on Reddit that the dungeon is too tight for four players. That is the whole “is it 4 player?” answer.
The rules that are official
Three people at once. More friends can join the same save over time, still three in the session. Online only. No local or split-screen mode in the FAQ or the store categories. Cross-platform multiplayer is a store category and an FAQ yes. Looking-for-group chat is the Behold Studios Discord channel #ddd-looking-for-group.
Voice uses an in-world intercom. Players on 16 October 2026 said there is no push-to-talk option and voice activation was not firing. I have not seen a patch for that. Guest bows missing their target is a separate netcode report from launch week, and patch 1.0.47.0 does not list it.
| Question | Answer | Source |
|---|---|---|
| How many at once? | You plus two friends | Publisher FAQ, 13 October 2026 |
| Why not four? | Dungeon is too tight | Developer Saulotti, same week |
| Split screen? | Not listed | FAQ and store categories |
| Cross-play? | Yes | FAQ and the store category |
| Where to find people? | Discord #ddd-looking-for-group | Same FAQ |
What co-op does not share
Recipe unlocks are per inventory. If you picked up leather or the first hammer and your friend did not, their crafting menu stays blank. Patch 1.0.47.0 added lobby passwords, so a friend who cannot see the session may be looking at a locked lobby rather than a dead cross-play feature. Connection failures that survive a password check are on the separate troubleshooting page.
Questions
Is Deep Dish Dungeon 4 player?
No. The developer said the dungeon is too tight for four, for both design and building balance.
Is there split screen?
No local or split-screen mode is listed. Co-op is online.
